SOBECC Success – Valisafe launches in Latin America
Valisafe are extremely pleased to announce our regional launch into the Latin American market at the recent SOBECC / WFHSS combined conference. We were fortunate to have a very willing and capable local partner in H Strattner with whom we held our first South American Dealer meeting. This was well attended with representatives from Mexico, Chile, Peru, Argentina, Costa Rica and of course Brazil. Successful negotiations have lead to the appointment of 6 new dealers throughout the region while Katy Howliston (who is based in Buenos Aires) will maintain day to day contact with our dealer network full technical and logistical support will be offered through our UK offices.
During the conference and exhibition itself Valisafe was highly visible on the Strattner stand. With a total number of 2600 delegates and numerous international partners our display was very well attended and, significantly, a large number of leads were received from delegates throughout South America. As a consequence of SOBECC and our partners in Brazil providing space on their stand, Valisafe has been able to establish a very strong platform from where to grow the business throughout Latin America and we look forward to becoming a leader in our field in the region.

SI + WD = The only technology that cleans!
Over 200 CSSD delegates attended the National meeting in Friborg, Switzerland in June; some of which were positively astounded to discover that Sonic Irrigation + WD – a method incorporated into our SISA machine, Niagara SI PCF and Niagara Ultrasonic - really is the only technology capable of generating almost 100% decontamination.
During this meeting, an experienced SI Digital presented scientific results that compared the cleaning results of manual cleaning, Sonic Irrigation and his washer disinfector (pass through).
Results demonstrated that manual cleaning produced debris of up to 80%, as well as a number of bristle remains from used cleaning brushes. While the individual use of Sonic Irrigation and the use of a Washer Disinfector produced a cleaning ratio of almost 80%. In conclusion, these rigorous tests demonstrated that Sonic Irrigation used in conjunction with a Washer Disinfector is the only method capable of producing almost 100% cleanliness.
Of course our Swiss team knew this already! :)

SISA in Monterrey!
Mexico installed yet another SISA in the Materno Infantil Hospital located in Monterrey. The SISA, designed to reprocess up to 12 cannulated instruments in one single process, combines a sophisticated flushing system and ultrasonic energy to successfully clean instruments used for minimal invasive surgery both inside and out. | 3rd UK NIAGARA Reference Site @ Chelsea and Westminster
Chelsea and Westminster hospital, a flag ship and highly respected UK hospital that is regularly consulted on best practice for instrument reprocessing, have recently installed a NEW NIAGARA and are willing to act as a reference site. This is Medisafe International’s 3rd UK Reference Site for the Niagara – the only machine capable of disinfecting and drying 144 lumen and cannulated instruments in just 29 minutes!!
The impact that the technology of the Niagara has had on this hospital, which now averages 20 cycles a day with the Niagara alone, has increased speed and efficiency within the CSSD so much so that Chelsea and Westminster Hospital are already considering replacing its two remaining Washer Disinfectors.

Use Valisafe’s ‘ready to use’ rapid protein residue detection system to test any surface after the cleaning process. ProTEST Q can also be used on complex instruments such as serrated edges or box joints and provides accurate results in accordance with EN ISO 15883-1; in just 10 minutes.
ProTEST ‘Q’, Valisafe’s Protein residue test in accordance with EN ISO 15883-1 (HTM 01-05 (UK)) turns from green to purple if protein is present in the sample. One test will provide you with the assurance that both Biuret and Ninhydrin sensitivity requirements have been fulfilled.

A Niagara in Norway
Norway ordered their first Niagara – the only machine capable of disinfecting and drying 144 lumen and cannulated instruments in just 29 minutes – in December 2009!!
In using such a fast washing and disinfection process, it allows your CSSD to reprocess double the amount of instruments in the same space as your existing slow washer/disinfectors – and thus does the job of two machines!
This ultra fast, ultrasonic cycle allows for combined cleaning of instruments which require Sonic Irrigation, ultrasonic cleaning and also general instruments such as forceps, retractors and clamps.

PCF in Portugal
Portugal has received their first sale of a Sonic Irrigator Parametric Control Flow (PCF). Internationally recognized as THE standard for complex instrument reprocessing, this Washer/Disinfector can reprocess up to 40 cannulated instruments in a single process.
Using a combination of ultrasonic activity and irrigation to create the process of Sonic Irrigation, the SI PCF generates more power and greater flushing ability to enable it to clean the worlds most complex instruments, giving you the user the confidence that your instruments have been cleaned and disinfected using a process which has been scrutinised under several international standards and also bares the seal of approval from the likes of Richard Wolf, Conmed, Boss and Intuitive Surgical as a means to reprocess their instruments successfully.

A wash with success...
Medisafe International exhibiting the new Super Size PICO range, as well as a host of other products designed to help dentists comply with latest government and BDA decontamination guidelines, proved a wash with success at this year’s BDTA!

40 More trained engineers...
The number of fully qualified engineer’s available in the Dental Division is rapidly expanding after a serious of training sessions for new engineers – Medisafe has now added an extra 40 fully qualified engineers to the dental repertoire, with more training days planned for the foreseeable future.
Not only are we aiding customers and distributors with our Niagara “reference sites” in hospitals around the globe – a solution that endeavours to demonstrate the Niagara’s unique ability to reduce costs and reprocess instruments in just 29 minutes* or less, proven! – But we are pleased to be able to assist customers with the largest number of trained engineers yet!

New Niagara Install Brazil - SOBECC
While the majority of the Northern Hemisphere was on their summer holidays, life south of the equator certainly did not slow down. July saw a hive of activity in Brazil with the SOBECC conference taking place in Sao Paolo from 17th – 21st July. Medisafe exhibited in conjunction with longstanding distribution partner, H Strattner. International Sales Manager , Katy-Jo Howliston and Technical Director , Samuel Morais were in attendance to present the Niagara SI Ultrasonic to the Brazilian audience.
As part of his visit to the region, Samuel was installing a Niagara at the highly respected Sterileno reprocessing facility. As a site in the region that is consulted on best practice for instrument reprocessing, placing a Niagara here represents a significant coup for Katy-Jo and the team at H Strattner. |

NEW SI PCF Reference Site-MALTA
The first SI PCF on the island was purchased due to “the reliability of Medisafe as a supplier of Ultrasonic Irrigators” that “not only clean[s] but also disinfect[s]” and also “reduce[s] the process time…”
